Rotaract Events
Each year, the Rotaract Club of Brisbane Rivercity hosts two major fundraising events, where all money raised is donated to charities chosen by club members - one local and one international.
Since our Charter in 2015, our club has proudly donated thousands of dollars to our chosen charities, and initiated some unique and fun events in the process.
In addition to these fundraising events, our club hosts an annual series of professional development workshops, where by drawing on the skills of Rotarians in our cluster, our club members are educated on professional development areas of interest.
Sprinkle Kindness
2022
‘Sprinkle Kindness’ is the colourful fairy bread cocktail party that will brighten your night!
Raising money in support of ReachOut - an online mental health service supporting young adults - Sprinkle Kindness is in conjunction with Fairy Bread Day to bring a bit of sparkle (and a lot of sprinkles) to many.
SHINE for Shelterbox
2018 - 2021
A cocktail party with live music and entertainment designed to raise money and create awareness of Shelterbox, whilst giving a platform for local artists to SHINE.
Shelterbox provides emergency shelter and aid to families affected by natural disaster and humanitarian crisis all around the world. Click here to learn more.
Professional Development
2018 - 2022
Over a two month period, club meetings feature guest speakers from members within our cluster to present on a topic of their expertise, and our interests.
After learning each subject, club members are given the opportunity to put what they have learnt into practice during a Professional Development Evening.
Movie Night
2020-2021
Replacing our famous trivia events, the Rivercity Movie Night saw its inaugural event in Oct 2020, spawning some spooky sequels in the process.
Our movie nights have previously been in support of Beyond DV, a local Brisbane charity helping survivors of domestic violence reclaim their lives.
Trivia
2015 - 2019
Since being chartered in 2015, it has been tradition for the Rotaract Club of Brisbane Rivercity to host a trivia night. Supported by our own meeting venue, The Pig N’ Whistle, the topics have included Star Wars, Harry Potter, True Blue Australiana, and Stranger Things, many have come far and wide to be crowned trivia champions!
Rotary District 9620 Conference
March 2023
An annual event bringing together members of Rotary and Rotaract clubs across the district to celebrate the year that has passed, be inspired by keynote speakers and learn from the projects and achievements of other clubs.
The conference is hosted by the District Governor, who together with a team of Rotarians and Rotaractors plan a two day event centred around the annual Rotary theme ‘Rotary Connects the World’, and pays tribute to the 5 core values of Rotary; Leadership, Fellowship, Diversity, Service and Integrity.
